Cornwall Counselling Hub: Kevin Williams
I am a qualified integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist working in Camborne, Redruth and Truro
I am an open and honest counsellor and I abide by the ethical code of the National Counselling Society of which I am an accredited member.
I am qualified in several of the main counselling modalities namely humanistic, psychodynamic, psychoanalytic and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).
My work predicates in the belief that we all, given the right conditions, have an infinite capacity to heal and grow.
These conditions of honesty, acceptance and empathy can form the basis for permanent change and healing.
The humanistic approach can be incredibly effective in helping individuals deal with so many issues including loss, relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, bereavement, and abuse (whether historic or current) and it is also incredibly powerful in enabling real, lasting change.
I believe that with help you can truly understand yourself better, understand your complex relationships with others and stop limiting yourself with old, outdated and unhelpful thinking and behaviours.
Being integrative I am able to blend the therapies to suit the individual, so if you require a slightly more directive approach in order to deal with anxiety, phobia or addiction then cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) can have some incredibly powerful effects and can re write unhelpful thoughts, feelings, behaviours and emotions.
Our unique life experiences have a major effect on how we see the world, deal with other people and see our place in it. Often we can feel lost or at odds with our true selves and what we really feel and want, this can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves, the outside world and other people.
I have the experience as a counsellor to notice when the unhelpful thoughts and conditions which we often live our lives by are present, unhelpful, outdated thoughts often bring us unhappiness and together we can start to rewrite this conditioning and understand why these rules no longer work for you.

My hope is that during the counselling process you will connect with yourself once again, gain a greater sense of self, the key to empowering you to overcome life’s difficulties and achieving happiness and contentment. I work with local charities counselling those who have experienced sexual abuse and rape but I also have this private practice where I help individuals, couples and families to find their way through some difficult times.
I am a qualified practitioner of Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) which has proven amazingly effective in a whole range of issues from low self esteem to phobias and low mood. I can provide online counselling or telephone if face to face is a challenge.
So whatever it is that is troubling you I would be happy to talk to you either by phone or e -mail and lets see if we can get you back to where you want to be. If you want to you can also meet Sia the therapy dog!
